This holiday season, you could be buying products made by child labour and you wouldn’t even know it. Every year, Canadian companies import billions of dollars worth of everyday products made by children as young as six - including fashion, fruit, coffee, and body lotion.1
The government’s been doing nothing to prevent this — but together we can change that.
Right now, there’s a Parliamentary committee studying this very problem.[2] In their report, they could make bold recommendations to enact strong corporate transparency laws — but we’re hearing from our friends at World Vision that they probabaly wont recommend this unless they start hearing that everyday people care about this issue.
Send a message to the committee calling on them to recommend strong corporate transparency laws to force companies to publicly disclose their supply chains, whether child labour was used in their products, and what they’re doing to address it. Their study ends next week, we have to act fast.
