Leadnow is looking for a tech savvy Campaign Manager


Leadnow is looking for a campaigns “generalist” who is ready to take on some leadership. What do we mean by a “generalist”? You may describe yourself as a “jack of all trades” and have relevant experience that would prepare you to liaise between campaigns and our tech development projects. Some of the skills that likely make you a generalist are: enjoying the challenge of learning new things, logical/strategic thinking, managing projects and strong interpersonal skills.

There is some flexibility in who is the “ideal” candidate for the role of Campaign Manager - Tech. At Leadnow, we are committed to investing in training and leadership development on the job and through external opportunities. What is most important is that you are familiar with and are aligned with our mission, you have strong organisational skills and you have either experience in campaigning or have a strong foundation in the application of multiple tech tools to serve engagement.

Role Description: Campaign Manager - Tech

Reporting to the Co-Executive Director - Campaigns, this role serves as a tech-savvy liaison and support to our digital campaigning and organizing teams. This role manages our tech developer, though is not required to be a developer. Rather, as the primary point of contact between campaigns and tech systems, this role consults across the team to assess and prioritize needs for the development and maintenance of our campaigning tech tools and software systems that support member and donor engagement. This role then project manages the deployment of our tech needs, including managing the tech budget.

The Campaign Manager - Tech collaborates with the campaigns and organizing teams to develop and test innovative tactics with a focus on leveraging tech or data to achieve campaign objectives.


We have offices in Toronto and Vancouver* and one remote team member in Victoria, BC. Preference for this role is Vancouver, though Toronto or Victoria also possible for the right candidate.

*all working remotely during COVID


This is a full time, permanent position with a salary range of $56,100-$58,500, plus benefits and annual cost of living increase; unionized with BCGEU.

Essential Skills for the Role:

  • 1-3 years experience in a campaigning environment OR 1-3 years experience in a tech-focused environment

  • Strategic thinking - ability to assess a situation and identify compelling, creative campaigning opportunities

  • Project management - ability to self-organise and prioritise multiple projects at once and comfort with pivoting focus or re-prioritizing when conditions require or moments arise

  • Problem solving skills - ability to assess and understand complex problems and proactively propose possible solutions

  • Tech skills - comfort with and strong aptitude for understanding technological tools - either front end or back end - and an ability to learn and use new systems with ease, given the training

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - ability to effectively liaise with multiple people in service of developing and moving work forward, including support and coordination of the work of one direct report.

Additional Skills or Qualities

These are aspects that would be “nice to have” but are not required. Many are things we would be happy to teach on the job.

  • Experience with digital campaigning or digital fundraising

  • Experience in leading successful and impactful campaigns

  • Basic programming skills; html e.g

  • Understanding of the role of tech and data in campaigning

  • Data management 

  • Effective mentorship skills; managing others to help them succeed

  • Ability to teach new systems and tools to others

  • Budget management

  • Understanding of Canadian political and parliamentary landscape

  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback
