Fossil Fools Day: RBC Day of Action April 1st, 2023

RBC is the biggest funder of fossil fuels in Canada (5th in the world). It has poured over $200 Billion into fossil fuels since the Paris climate agreement was signed. RBC is also financing the Coastal Gaslink Pipeline on Wet'suwet'en territory, as well as countless other human rights violating and climate-wrecking projects worldwide.

This April, RBC’s shareholders will come together for their Annual General Meeting (AGM). There, they’ll celebrate their ill-gotten gains - and their company will be in the spotlight. Their counting on using it as an opportunity to show off their corporate strength. But we’re going to steal the show.

Following Wet'suwet'en Leadership and Land Defenders calls to action, Leadnow members will join a broad coalition of organizations shining a spotlight on the planet-killing investments RBC continues to make, and pulling back the curtain on RBC’s greenwashing. Together, we’ll ensure that RBC can’t hide the truth from its customers and potential customers anymore - exactly what their executives fear.

By taking action with us on April 1st, you will join us in demanding that Canada’s worst fossil bank, RBC, respect the free, prior, and informed consent of Indigenous peoples and immediately put a halt to funding the expansion of fossil fuel production and infrastructure such as Coastal Gas Link.
