JOB POSTING: Campaigns Manager - Tech and Data

Role Description
Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Campaigns Manager, Tech and Data serves as the primary point of contact for our tech systems and works to consult across the team to prioritize the tech tools necessary for running campaigns as well as the core infrastructure to maintain our data and systems that support fundraising and operations. The Campaigns Manager continues to collaborate with the campaigns team to develop, test, and innovate on campaigns with a focus on how to leverage tech and data to execute on campaign priorities.

Salary
$55,000 - full time, permanent position, unionized with BCGEU.

Requirements
  • Understanding and well tuned intuition of Leadnow’s current tech stack and infrastructure as it supports campaigning, operations, data and fundraising
  • Ability to communicate the scope of our technical needs to support and project manage the maintenance, and long term improvements of these systems
  • Ability to stick to budgets and priorities; understanding when to say ‘no’ to a request and when to change course to meet an urgent need
  • Strong strategic instincts and excellent communications skills

Tasks & Responsibilities

Overall Tech Leadership
  • Visioning, innovating and executing on the relationship between Leadnow and tech (across campaigns, fundraising and operations)
  • Overseeing the development of tech systems to meet the priorities of the organization (across campaigns, fundraising and operations)
  • Overseeing data security, privacy and technical risk management across the organization
  • Provide training to the team on the use of any new technologies and related data / security policies
  • Ensure Leadnow establishes its place as the most innovative campaigning organization in Canada.
  • Ensure there is adequate organizational knowledge and documentation related to our technical systems to ensure resiliency
Project Management
  • Tech project management, prioritization, and execution across the organization
  • Scope and manage the development of systems for one-off tech development (e.g. microsites for campaigns or scoping and implementing new features on existing platforms)
  • Lead and manage the process for hiring an in-house developer and building out the tech team
  • Manage developers and consultant relationships that support core tech infrastructure

Manage fast, effective implementation of campaigns
  • Draft campaign communications and emails that are well-researched, effectively messaged and speak to issues the Leadnow.ca community cares about
  • Manage campaign staff and contractors, as needed
  • Coordinate with graphic designers to promote strong images for each campaign
  • Work with Leadnow.ca organizers and volunteers to coordinate on-the-ground actions 
  • Ensure high quality work and assess and mitigate risk of potential and ongoing campaigns
Craft campaign and organizational strategy
  • Stay on top of current events and identify key moments for effective campaigns that advance KPIs (impact, growth, engagement, fundraising)
  • Seek opportunities to deepen our campaigning through follow-up actions, such as letters to the editor, phone banking, postering, rallies, etc.
  • Help to shape the overall strategic development of the organization, and at times take responsibility for recruitment, team building and special projects
  • Help to develop Leadnow’s communication and framing strategy to align with our strategic goals, and support the campaigns team in crafting effective messages.
