Last Saturday millions of people in over 600 communities around the world poured into the streets to support the Women’s March on Washington – a massive global rally promoting women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, racial equality, workers’ issues, and the environment.

It was a direct response to the inauguration of Donald Trump and the threat he poses to women and marginalized communities everywhere. It was also an amazing reminder of how important people power is when faced with overwhelming hatred and division.

So many of us are now wondering what to do with all this amazing energy.  There’s lots we can and should do to carry the work of women’s rights forward — but an important first step is to read the Unity Principles of the Women’s March on Washington.

The more people who read these principles, the better we can understand each other and the multiple struggles we face as women — especially those we don’t hear about or listen to often enough.

Understanding why and how women’s rights intersects with racial justice, disability rights, economic rights, and the most vulnerable among us is critical to the strength and success of the women’s liberation movement – in the US, Canada or around the world.

Will you take the pledge? It’s super easy: just put your details in the box on the right, hit “next step”, and you’ll be taken to the Women’s March on Washington Unity Principles.
