UPDATE: yesterday, Premier John Horgan announced a five-day paid sick leave program for BC. While this program is a step in the right direction, it falls far short of the 10 paid sick days that workers, public health experts and economists have been calling for.

Workers need to know that if they get sick, they have the option to stay home and keep their communities safe. That’s why we’re calling on Horgan to finish the job and get BC to 10 days.

Without paid sick leave, workers face an impossible decision: go to work and risk spreading the virus, or stay home and struggle to put food on the table.

Workers need paid sick days that are universal, adequate, fully paid, permanent, and accessible.

Add your name now to the petition calling on the Horgan government to protect workers and make paid sick leave a reality.

Dear Premier Horgan and Labour Minister Bains:

Legislate paid sick days so workers who need to can stay home and prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Any sick days program must be universal, fully paid, adequate, permanent, and accessible.
