Liberals, NDP and Greens: Cooperate to make progress on climate and inequality

We just witnessed an incredibly tight election. Neither the Liberals or Conservatives have enough seats to form government without the support of other parties.1

One thing is clear: a majority of Canadians voted for parties that will take bold action on climate and inequality.2 But our broken electoral system has allowed the Conservatives to gain more seats — and left unchecked, O’Toole’s Conservatives could grab power and drag us backwards.

The Liberals, NDP, and Greens combined have more seats than the Conservatives. They’ve committed action on important issues the Leadnow community cares about, including bold action to tackle the climate emergency and inequality.

We now have a shot at preventing the Conservatives from seizing power with a cooperative government that will do what is necessary and right to chart a path towards a safe and just future — but only if the Liberals, NDP and Greens agree to work together.

The next 48 hours will set the tone for what’s possible. Sign the petition calling on the NDP, Liberals, and the Greens to cooperate — to stop the Conservatives and make progress on climate and inequality.

To Liberal leader Justin Trudeau, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, and Green leader Annamie Paul:

A majority of Canadians voted for bold action on climate and inequality. We’re calling on you to work across party lines to cooperate and ensure a climate-safe and just future for all.
