MPs across party lines have the power to speak up in a minority government. A flood of emails to MPs now could convince them to speak up for key amendments to Bill C-12.

Hello,

I am writing to you today to urge you to strengthen Bill C-12 into a world-class climate accountability bill.

The bill is a good start. But it's one of the most important bills this government is going to pass. We can't miss this chance to make it a gold standard piece of legislation that will secure Canada's place as a world leader on climate justice.

I'm asking you to work with your caucus and across party lines to support critical amendments to strengthen the bill, including:

- Set the first emissions target for 2025, and ban fossil fuel executives from the advisory panel.
- Bill C-12 should be aligned with UNDRIP and set targets for job creation to ensure a just transition for all workers.
- Set clear, unconditional legal obligations on the Minister of Environment to actually meet targets.

The world is moving fast to transition away from fossil fuels. The UK version of Bill C12 is much stronger than our current version. And President Biden in the US has signaled that he is going to be a climate leader too. We cannot afford to be left behind - our children are counting on us to take bold action now. We must be accountable to them.
