Canada’s government is failing Indigenous communities on one of our most fundamental human rights: access to clean water.1
Right now, 28 Indigenous communities across Canada are still living under long-term boil water advisories and don’t have clean water for drinking or cooking.2
The government has just introduced a Clean Water Bill to set new water standards in Indigenous communities.3 But First Nations impacted by this critical issue of clean water say the Bill is inadequate and needs to be redrafted, with meaningful consultation with Indigenous communities.4
Will you sign the petition to Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu to support Indigenous communities in gaining access to clean water?
Indigenous Services Minister Patty Hajdu:
Meaningfully consult First Nations so the Clean Water Bill ensures safe water for all Indigenous communities
