The Conservatives are trying to strong-arm Justin Trudeau’s Liberals into pulling back essential climate policies in the 2024 Budget.

Pierre Poilievre and Conservative Premiers like Doug Ford are labeling climate mitigation policies like the carbon tax, as the cause for the financial crunch faced by many Canadians. The Conservatives are trying to bully us out of moving forward on the climate goals we so desperately need in the face of runaway climate change.

This is a slippery slope to Conservatives pulling back even more of our climate goals, when we need it most. We can’t let that happen. The 2024 Budget will be announced on April 16th, which gives us a short window of time to make sure the Conservatives don’t cheat us out of a liveable future.
