Call on the Federal Government to divest from the Thirty Meter Telescope

Sacred land is being desecrated to build a huge telescope atop the Mauna Kea mountain in Hawai’i — and Canada has a $243.5 million stake in it. [1]

Ground could break on the “Thirty Meter Telescope” any day. But Native Hawai’ians are determined to protect the mountain — which is culturally and spiritually significant for them. [2]

Scientists, students, and First Nation chiefs across Canada have spoken out in solidarity with land defenders in Hawai’i -- and they’re calling on the Canadian government to divest from this unnecessary, unwelcome and harmful project. [3][4]

A massive public outcry from everyday people across Canada, while opposition to the project is building, could convince our government to pull support for the telescope — and that could be the first step towards torpedoing this destructive project.

Stand up for the rights of Native Hawai'ians and divest from this project that would destroy sacred Hawai'ian land.
